Title : Assistant Buyer

Reports to Buyer


The Assistant Buyer for Home is responsible for helping to exceed department sales goals and profitability by working with internal and external partners to coordinate timely product deliveries and analyze weekly selling across multiple channels. The ability to develop key cross-functional relationships with both market and internal partners; distribution center, design, planning, allocation, merchandising and production, is critical to accomplishing team goals. The Assistant Buyer is also responsible for contributing to product development by finding new artists, sharing tears from magazines/blogs, reviewing trends, and suggesting new products or categories.


Organize and create a systematic method for managing all sample areas (sample log, desks, sample shelves, conference rooms, mail drop site, etc.)
Take ownership of Product Information for every style bought
Organize and manage PO handoff to ensure goods are ordered based on seasonal flow strategy including form set up, attributing, item names, costing, etc.
Partner with Buying Operations to ensure accurate and timely orders are executed across multiple channels and that all relevant product details are entered correctly.
Attend all creative product meetings and communicate selling history to aid the buyer in identifying product opportunities in the assortment
Work with planning and allocation to pull all necessary sales analysis required for product meetings
Set up seasonal style outs and product review meetings as directed by the buyer
Master all weekly reports; open to buy, on order, velocity, and TY/LY for both channels
Analyze weekly sales and item performance with the buyer/planner

Education Bachelor s Degree in Fashion, Business, or a related field.
