About the Department ofConservation and Recreation:
The Department of Conservation and Recreation manages one of the largest andmost diverse state parks systems in the nation and protects and enhancesnatural resources and outdoor recreational opportunities throughoutMassachusetts. DCR is a dynamic agency, and is one of the largest park systemsin the nation. The DCR system includes over 450,000 acres of parks, forests,water supply protection lands, beaches, lakes, ponds, playgrounds, swimmingpools, skating rinks, trails and parkways.
The Department of Conservation and Recreation seeks qualified applicants forthe positions of seasonal Laborer I.
Seasonal Laborers perform and assist with a variety of duties in connectionwith conservation and maintenance work including, but not limited to, groundsand facility maintenance work including cutting grass, raking leaves, watering,painting, rubbish removal, beautification of parks, campgrounds, andreservations, beaches and facilities.
May be expected to use a variety of hand tools.
May operate motor vehicles and light trucks including loading and unloading ofsupplies, equipment, etc.
Greet and assist park visitors and provide information about the facility.
Based on assignment, collect fees and may be required to possess a current andvalid Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
Perform other related duties as required.
Salaries are based upon full-time/40 hours worked per week. Work schedules anddays off are at the discretion of the Supervisor. This position may requireworking weekends and/or holidays.
